Jeana Keough, a founding cast member of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue, according to her daughter Kara Bosworth, who launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her mother’s treatment. The 70-year-old reality television personality, who appeared on the show from 2006 to 2010, first noticed a painful sore on her tongue during a visit to her daughter in Florida. She initially attributed the discomfort to a tooth rubbing against her tongue, visiting the dentist multiple times to file the tooth down. However, after Kara asked how long the sore had persisted, Jeana realized it had been nearly a year. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, revealing the aggressive form of cancer that would upend her life.

Kara, 37, and her brothers have taken on the responsibility of ensuring Jeana receives support during her battle. Kara, who traveled from Florida to California to assist her mother, highlighted the emotional and logistical challenges of managing her care from afar. “We’ve often wished we could simply be there to help with the everyday things that become overwhelming during cancer treatment,” she wrote, noting that the family’s efforts to raise funds through the GoFundMe reflect their commitment to alleviating her burdens. The campaign, which aims to cover medical expenses, nutrition, and living costs, had raised over $20,000 of a $22,000 goal as of July 20, 2026.
