Privacy & Cookie Policy

Effective date: 24 June 2026 · Contact: privacy@currentdeck.com

This policy explains what information CurrentDeck ("we", "us") collects when you visit currentdeck.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed the site to collect as little personal data as possible.

Information we collect

  • Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data: IP address, browser type, requested pages, referring page and timestamps. We use these only for security, debugging and aggregate traffic statistics, and they are rotated automatically.
  • Reading statistics. We count article views in aggregate. This counter stores no personal identifiers — only the fact that an article was viewed.
  • Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to respond.

We do not require accounts, we do not sell personal data, and we do not run our own tracking profiles of readers.

Cookies

CurrentDeck itself sets no cookies for general visitors. Cookies you may encounter on this site come from:

  • Advertising (Google AdSense). We display advertising served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud. Personalised advertising can be controlled at Google Ads Settings, and many vendors can be managed at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu. Google's own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • Embedded content. Some articles embed videos or social-media posts (YouTube, X, Instagram). When such an embed loads, the platform may set its own cookies and collect data as if you had visited it directly, under its own privacy policy. Where possible we use privacy-reduced embed modes.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the editorial content of this site works fully without them.

Legal bases (EU/EEA readers)

Where the GDPR applies, we process server logs under legitimate interest (site security and operation); advertising cookies are used only as permitted by applicable consent rules; correspondence is processed to answer you. We keep personal data no longer than needed for these purposes.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. California residents additionally have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights and may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined by the CCPA — we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email privacy@currentdeck.com; we respond within the legally required timeframe. EU readers may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

Children

CurrentDeck is a general-audience news site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security and transfers

The site is served over HTTPS through a global content delivery network. Technical data may be processed in countries outside your own; where required, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses used by our infrastructure providers.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
